  If They Stopped Shunning Tomorrow?

  imagine that the cult decided to stop shunning family members on the proviso that the dfd person was not actively trying to attack the cult.. (please don't debate whether or not this is likely - it's hypothetical).

  how would you respond to your family?.

  personally i think i would be less than cooperative.

  I was DF. At that time I realized it wash't the truth and no way was I

  going back, (1987)... My family members are insane door knockers.

  Their shunning has turn to hate over the years.

  I have had JW family members come to my home when I was still

  married to my JW wife come to my door and not acknowledge me,

  just walk right pass me as if I was invisible. My wife tell me dear would you

  mind excusing yourself and go to the bedroom.

  I have come to the aid of my sister when her car broke down, took her

  home but I couldn't set foot into her home. That same sister left instructions

  before she died, for me not to visit her.

  My oldest daughter (20 years since I've seen her) at one time lived a few blocks

  from me, she told me Dad you are not welcome in my home. Other family

  members that I have seen over the years, look the other way.

  Hell I'm not a glutton for punishment, 28 years of this craziness

  I don't have that kind of forgiveness.

  My niece speaking to her seven year old daughter, mother who was that

  man you smile at. Oh that's your uncle.(d) My uncle, where does he live?

  (N) here in town, he's a bad man.

  But if I went back all would be fine.LOL

  Rumor about the Imitate Jesus Convention

  i saw a rumor a few weeks ago on reddit that the new imitate jesus convention is supposed to present new light and clarified understandings on the disfellowshipping/disassociation practices.. supposedly, if this rumor has any truth to it, there will be a talk given at the convention about how we should not be strict like the pharisees in how we shun people, loosening up some of the jw rules about this practice.. has anyone here heard anything about this or have more info on it?.

  "I cant wait to meet Abraham!"

  "i can't wait to meet abraham" was the eager comment made by a young 7 year old witness girl.. when asked why, she said "because he was jehovahs friend, and he was even willing to kill his own son!".

  this comment was said with joy and excitement!

  she can't see the obvious issues with this?.

  What kind of relationship did Abraham and his son have after that ordeal.

  If my father decided to cut my throat I would definitely sleep with one

  eye open. Who to say he may hear another voice, "ok for real this time".

  I'm sure their relationship was very tense. Dad what are you going

  to do with that knife , carve that steak or take a swing at my throat.

  I can't take this sh--t any more, I'm a nervous wreck. I don't know

  if you are a psychopath or your God. Anyway I moving far from here.

  nelim : That 's funny.

  Here's a thought. Would it had been a lot simpler for God to tell

  Noah, gather all the animals at the top of the mountain and

  your family, I will bring rain for 40 days until it reach about 50 feet

  from the top. That way all will be safe and you have vegetation plus

  it not necessary to cover all the mountain top.

  No need to spend years a building a boat, more time to preach...

  What kind of anchor did Noah use to remain in the same area after a

  massive flood? People have been stranded in the ocean for a few days

  and have drifted for miles and no rain from above and below. Noah remained

  within a few miles from his home. If he had stepped off the boat in North America

  OK maybe, but the earth was very small for Noah.

  Paradise is going to suck!

  once you really start thinking about it, the whole paradise idea is kind of depressing.

  i remember growing up as kids my sister was the first to tell my parents (admittedly very courageously) that she wasn't sure she wanted to live in paradise, it sounded boring living forever.

  i thought she was dumb for thinking that, i mean playing with lions!!!!

  How will you stay in contact with brothers around the globe, if you break

  a leg while working in the fields or maybe no one will break anything in paradise.

  How about toilet paper (Adam and Eve leaves), no thank you.

  No electricity for music, singing kingdom songs will get old.

  Taking a road trip, it will be a road trip alright 40 years from NY to California.

  After the mansion (Jw have claimed) have fall into despair due

  to like of material to repair, then what? Not all can build a log cabin, but

  I guess if you live forever you have time to get it right.

  And who will not miss the varieties of eating establishment and where

  will I buy my tools.

  I bet you if it was possible to communicate with someone that lived 200 years ago

  and ask him or her, which time period would you prefer to live. Hell those good old days

  was not that great.

  when my niece was very little (over 20 years ago), barely walking or talking, my mother decided to teach her "where jehovah lives".

  she would coach her and say, "where does jehovah live?

  " in a sing-song voice.

  as long as shunning continues donations will be slow

  one of the reasons the watchtower is having problems with donations is because they have refuse to let go of wholesale across the board shunning.

  the average publisher is sick of it and jehovah is withholding his full blessing.

  when you do not show love to fellow humans you run the risk of not being able to show love which i'm turn has a direct relationship to your joy in turn if your not happy your not motivated to donate lots of money to and arrangement you perceive as unloving all you bethel lurkers convey this message to bro letters and rest of gb stop trying to convince fair minded people to support unloving shunning.

  The mind of a JW. When my family members who were never JW's

  saw first hand the shunning of me by my JW family members it

  stop them dead in their tracks, some were studying at that time. They

  wanted no parts of Jehovah's religion.

  So now my JW family members shunning has turn to hate, because

  they blame me for turning the other non-JW family against the truth.

  If only I would come back after 28 years the family could come together

  again. What dumb nuts my JW family are, they don't have a clue.
